Registry Information

The CMT Registry has been operating for over twenty five years, specializing in intermediate Mercurys and Fords. Members receive the Registry Update three times a year, and enjoy keeping these older cars on the road.

Whether for restoration, shows, or just keeping them on the road, we try to spread the word on parts availability and events to visit, as well as accumulating data to determine rarity, option availability, and how many are left.

The club's scope broadened a number of years ago to a '68-'79 intermediate Ford/Merc registry that also includes '64-'67 Mercury intermediates. The CMT Registry covers all Cyclone ('64-'72), Montego & GT ('68-'76), Cougar ('74-'79), Torino/GT/Cobra/Fairlane and Ranchero ('68-'79), LTD II ('77-'79), '70-1/2 Falcon and '64-'67 Mercury 202/Comet(through 69)/Caliente, no matter what power train was factory-installed or that now currently resides. We are interested in any factory experimental-built cars as well. Rob, who runs the registry, has a special interest in '70-'71 midsize Mercurys & Torinos, particularly the 16,580 Cyclone models built, but tracks everything

On the Ford side, interest is toward '70-'71 Torino GT Cobras (104,741 built out of a total run of 620,912). Again, any data from other years/models will be welcomed. The Torinos are slightly more complicated, not just in quantity but they were built on several assembly lines, unlike most years of the Mercurys.

Thanks for your interest in older Mercury and Ford products. Rob hopes to hear from you in the future. Enjoy looking around this site for various information. Due to lack of time, partly due to time required to get the newsletter out, this site usually only gets revised after the Update comes out every few months. Thanks for understanding and visiting.
